A Mother’s Sacrifice
That is how she has lived her life with the great sacrifice she made for all these years … Still, the woman was content because her only child was healthy. Could she give up? She had never given up on him. Of course, she raised her child, who was called out by both motherhood and fatherhood. “Mummmmy!” As she sipped her coffee, she thought that she was the only person who brought her child to this age. After five years, she turned to see that her only child was ten years old now.
If she did, she would have already saved herself and her child from this indifferent and alcoholic husband. But she had no economic power. Hadn’t she thought about this over and over again? She could have already got divorced, of course! Her husband did not even show affection to her child, as he drank with his friends every time after work. His only daily question is, “What meal did you prepare for me today?” and the woman could not stand a father who only occasionally tricked her child with a gift. Not anymore. The woman could not take it. She had to be both a mother and a father for all this time. The woman was tired of always giving the same answers and seeing her little child sad. While these questions devour the brain, the voice from inside “Is my father not coming also today, mummy?” little child reproached to her mother. Was her husband really working as hard as she was? Why should she provide household chores, childcare, and food? It was she who heard herself again. She gave the answer herself. “Was it too late now?” the woman asked herself. If she had a special magical power, she would have used time five years ago, to those days when she was not married … Right in the first place! Where did she go wrong? “A kid with a father but only feeling the presence of his mother?” the woman started asking these questions herself or “What was the sin of being a mother who was both a mother and a father anyway?”
